Middle School Newsletter 1.29.2024
I came across the following post last year:
Barely the day started and it's already six in the evening.
Barely arrived on Monday and it's already Friday.
And the month is already over.
And the year is almost over.
And 30, 40 or 50 years of our lives have passed.
And we realize that we lost our parents and friends.
And we realize it's too late to go back.
So, let's try, despite everything, to enjoy the remaining time.
Let's keep looking for activities that we like.
Let's put some color in our gray.
Let's smile at the little things in life that put balm in our hearts.
And despite everything, we must continue to enjoy this time we have left.
Let's try to eliminate the afters.
I'm doing it after.
I'll think about it after.
We leave everything for later like ′′ after ′′ is ours.
Because what we don't understand is that:
Afterwards, the coffee gets cold.
Afterwards, priorities change.
Afterwards, the charm is broken.
Afterwards, health passes.
Afterwards, the kids grow up.
Afterwards, parents get old.
Afterwards, promises are forgotten.
Afterwards, the day becomes the night.
And then it's often too late.
So, let's leave nothing for later.
Because we can lose the best moments, the best experiences, the best friends, the best family.
The day is today.
The moment is now.
Hours after reading it I was still thinking about the author’s message. Life’s journey is one that is unpredictable. A journey that is unique. One that is full of peaks and valleys. Everyday we get to make a decision on how we are going to respond to our journey. I know that I have experienced days filled with pure joy as well as those that have brought me to my knees.
I have always believed that life’s little moments are really what’s truly important. I have found that when I am truly living each day to the fullest I can truly appreciate these beautiful moments. My moments may be insignificant to others but they fill my heart with gratitude for the people I love and the experiences that these moments are created from. What if we all just took a minute at the end of our day to acknowledge and appreciate our little moments? Would we be pleasantly surprised at all the riches in our lives?
Some say I am hopelessly optimistic but I believe celebrating the little things in life will help us gain perspective when life throws us a curveball. This may not always be easy but a worthwhile challenge. Will you please join in making 2024 a year where we celebrate the little moments and live a life filled with joy and gratitude.

Athletics Update:
We are looking forward to spring sports starting back at PCS. There have been some changes to our spectator policy. Starting April 1st, 2024 students will not be allowed to attend PCS home sporting events without an adult or parent supervising them. This means that the parent/adult needs to be present with the student(s) for the duration of the event and not just on campus or waiting in the car. Thank you for your cooperation and support with this matter.
