Elementary School Newsletter 4.1.2024

Dear Elementary Families,

Can you believe it's already April? Time truly flies! We hope you had a fantastic weekend and had the chance to enjoy the beautiful weather. As we embrace the warmth and sunshine ahead, we're eagerly looking forward to the final stretch of the school year. With just two months left, we have plenty of exciting events on the horizon, including an eclipse viewing, the Multicultural Fair and Field Day! Get ready for some extra fun as we make the most of these last few weeks together.

Eclipse Viewing:

Exciting news! PCS will be viewing the eclipse, with the Elementary Building observing from the courtyard. Safety is our priority, and NASA-approved glasses will be provided. If you prefer your child not to participate, please notify their teacher in writing by April 5th. We're thrilled to share this rare experience with our students!

Multicultural Fair:

Cardinals Opening Day:

To celebrate Opening Day, the entire school will be having a dress down day this Thursday, April 4th. Show your support for the STL Cardinals by wearing your best red or Cardinals gear. Let's cheer them on for their first home game together!

MAP Testing:

MAP testing for 3rd, 4th & 5th graders is right around the corner! To ensure your child's success, please prioritize their attendance during their testing window. Consistent attendance allows them to fully engage with the material and perform to the best of their abilities. Additionally, adequate rest and proper nutrition play pivotal roles in supporting cognitive function and overall well-being. Encourage your child to get plenty of sleep and maintain a balanced diet, especially during this period. Together, let's empower our students to approach MAP testing with confidence and readiness. Please see the dates below for each grade level’s testing week:

  • 5th Grade: Week of April 1st

  • 4th Grade: Week of April 8th

  • 3rd Grade: Week of April 15th

4th/5th Grade Dance:

A huge thank you to all the families who attended the dance! Special appreciation goes out to the parents who pitched in to ensure everything ran smoothly. Let's also give a shoutout to our dedicated teachers and staff for organizing such a memorable day for the kids!

  • April 4 - Board Meeting

  • April 4- Cardinals Home Opener Dress Down Day

  • April 11- Fire Drill
