Elementary School Newsletter 1.17.2024

Dear Elementary Families:

As we dive into the new year, I am excited to spotlight another one of our key graduate aims: being academically skilled. At PCS, we prioritize providing a standards-aligned curriculum coupled with high expectations to ensure our students' success. Our commitment to academic excellence prepares them for the challenges of high school, equipping them with mastery in core content areas, outstanding literacy skills, profound math proficiency, and the essential habits for continuous learning and growth.

Additionally, we'd like to note the important role that student attendance plays in academic performance. Regular attendance is crucial, and we’d like to discuss our 90/90 attendance goal – 90% of our student body in attendance 90% of the time. Your support in reinforcing the importance of consistent attendance will undoubtedly contribute to our collective pursuit of academic achievement. Please check backpacks for a flyer explaining out 90/90 attendance goal that will be sent home with report cards this week.

In this week’s newsletter we are highlighting our ELL Specialists:

Lost and Found:

Lost and found items from August-December have been moved to the front of the building and will be up there until Friday 1/19. Please come in and look through it before it gets donated at the end of the week.

If there is anything that goes missing in the meantime, items will be placed in the normal lost and found area by the cafeteria so that it doesn't get donated with all of 1st semester lost items.

Report Cards:

Quarter 2 ended on January 5th and report cards will be sent home on Wednesday, January 17th.  With report cards you will find your child’s iReady winter diagnostic data report and an attendance flyer explaining our 90/90 attendance goal. If you have any questions and want to speak to your child’s teacher feel free to reach out and make an appointment.
