Dearest PCS Families,

We are moving right through the month of February! This past week we recognized the Lunar New Year!

This holiday is celebrated in many Asian countries, China- Korea (Seollal), Vietnam (Tet), Taiwan, Philippines, among others. Mrs. Ried, our art and music teacher, spent the past several weeks teaching our Kindergarten and First grade students about this holiday.

They worked to create dragons and coordinated a Lunar New Year parade to showcase their work! It was a great way to end the week.

Library News:

World Read Aloud Day

K-5th grade classes celebrated WRAD in the library the week of February 5-9 with guest readers and live author zooms! Authors Natasha Yim, Sarah Jane Marsh, Andria Rosenbaum, Sonja Thomas, and Tonya Lee Stone volunteered their time to read with us and answer questions about writing!

Kindergarten heard favorite stories from staff members Chelsea Dieters, Meghan Batson, Julie Rhodes, Christy Victor with Sabrina the dog, and Mrs. Ramsey's daughter Isobel with Reggie the puppet!
