Mrs. Dana Leesman
I am Dana Leesman and have been part of the PCS team since the school’s second year in 2001. I looked forward to coming here that year in order to work with a group of people who saw the children of the City of St. Louis as a top priority and who continue to have that same passion for those children 14 years later! I have had the wonderful opportunity to work with so many students and families while teaching first grade, being a reading specialist, as well as a teacher leader here at PCS. I received my BS in elementary education from the University of Illinois and a MS in educational administration from Illinois State University. I also have an additional certificate as a reading specialist from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. I am married and the proud mama of three boys and one girl. They keep me moving...that is for sure! I am a huge sports fan who loves to cheer for the Fighting Illini of the University of Illinois and the Chicago Cubs, Bears, Blackhawks, and Bulls. I also enjoy planning my next trip and visiting my family who is spread all over the United States. I believe that it is imperative that each child’s learning suits him or her, and my work this year will strive to assist our teaching staff in best practices and relationship building that will elevate our students to success this year and beyond.
