The elementary years are formative ones on the journey of growing and learning. At PCS, we believe the foundation for all learning starts with relationships. Since part of learning involves being social, we know we have to intentionally build positive relationships: student to adult, student to student, and adult to adult. We take this very seriously and know this is ultimately what defines our positive classroom and school culture, where authentic learning can occur.
We also value the curiosity of students and work hard to help students develop their ideas and opinions as they are learning. We know these steps help in the process of growing critical thinkers and empowered youth.
We partner with the students in a fun and play-filled project-based learning environment where teachers and staff make sure lessons are created through a developmental lens. As students go through different developmental stages, it is essential that we deeply understand those phases so we can provide challenging and engaging learning opportunities for every student.
